This year marks the 100th anniversary of automotive excellence from BMW. To commemorate this historic milestone, a temporary exhibition has been opened at the BMW museum in Munich, Germany.
Five platforms in the Museum Bowl take you on a journey through BMW’s history, starting with the very first masterpiece – the foundation of the Bayerische Motoren Werke in 1916. The stunning selection of vehicles on show are presented in chronological order, recalling historic motor racing achievements along with iconic motorcycles and automobiles, and of course ground breaking aircraft engines too.
Next, travel through the company’s history, illustrated by posters from the historical eras of mobility. There is also a section dedicated to the staff of BMW, without whom, the company’s enormous success would not have been possible. There are many details to supplement the history of the workforce, including information about health, architecture, internationalism, production, corporate culture and sustainability.
Take in a century of innovation with this exhibition, reliving the ups and downs of a company that has shaped the face of modern automobile design and technology. Running until 30th September 2017, visit the heart of automotive success and discover why BMW are still so successful today.
If Germany is a little too far away for you, discover our range of BMWs here at Lancaster BMW Milton Keynes, or book a test drive to experience 100 years of motoring innovation for yourself.
