Last October, Jardine Motors Group announcedits support of Jack Jarvis, a serving British soldier within the 59 Commando Squadron, in his solo transatlantic row in aid of Brainstrust. Jardine Motors is delighted to announce that Jack is now a World Record holder after completing this inspiring challenge, which he called ‘ United WeConquer’.
To support his efforts, Jardine Motors Group provided Jack with a new Land Rover Discovery to use during his three-month training phase. The Discovery also enabled him to tow his boat across the UK’s southern coast before the journey down to Portugal where the challenge commenced.
Jack left Portugal on 3rd December before rowing 4,500 nautical miles, unsupported, over the course of 110 days. He rowed an average of 50 miles, the equivalent of 14 hours, per day before making it to the shores of South Florida on 23rd March – making Jack the only person to ever complete this route.
Upon arrival in Miami, Jack was welcomed with a military Honour Guard, comprising both US and UK servicepeople, including SOUTHCOMM and the British Consulate.

Jack set a fundraising target of £50,000 but, after the milestone was reached at sea, he’s since set a new target of £55,000. The money raised will be donated to Brainstrust, a charity that helps those suffering from a brain tumour – a cause close to Jack’s heart after losing his grandfather to the same illness.
Jack adds: “I can’t thank Jardine Motors Group enough for all the help and support they’ve provided. It’s such an incredible privilege to have been able to complete this challenge, and now I’m looking forward to sharing the story with the Jardine Motors Group team once I’m back at home.”
