Porsche have created the 911 Carrera T with aesthetics in mind of course, but above all else it is functional, powerful, and exciting. The shape of the 911 Carrera T is unmistakable because of its iconic flyline and elegant roof lines. The 911 design DNA is clear to see here, with a low, flat sloping bonnet, steeply inclined windscreen and the roofline that slopes softly towards the rear. These inherent 911 traits have characterised Porsche since 1963. What’s new? On the exterior, the Porsche 911 Carrera T is different to the rest of the model line with Dark Grey accentuating details. Contrasting components such as the top and bottom trim on the exterior mirrors, the new door logos and the rear logos, and the trim strips on the rear lid grille. The windscreen also features a new top tint that gives this car a modern edge. All of the new design elements provide the new 911 Carrera T an even more extroverted and dynamic look.
PERFORMANCE
The twin-turbo horizontally opposed engine, the transmission, the chassis, the brakes and all the control systems are designed with one essential factor in mind: to provide the heist of performance. The Carrera T launches from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds, and powers to a top speed of 181mph for an extremely exciting driving experience. Its stand-out qualities: exceptional power, extraordinarily direct responsiveness, and a wide torque plateau- even at low speeds. The construction and performance of the car create a low centre of gravity, enhancing its sporty and competitive nature, in addition the engine sits in the centre of the car ensure greater stability and sturdiness.
TECHNOLOGY
The infotainment system is derived from the previous generation, it has the same 10.9-inch infotainment screen familiar from the Panamera, Cayenne and Macan. Swarm data-based live mapping is always connected and will help you avoid the traffic jams that are a regular occurrence depending on where you live. All the controls you’ll need on the move have been relocated to the main elevated central console, in the form of touch-sensitive buttons. The controls are still within reach of the steering wheel but have been left off the wheel in another attempt to save vital weight. The familiar Porsche Communication Management (PCM) has been updated and provides a central control centre for audio, navigation and communication as well as for a variety of assistance systems. Porsche Connect online navigation is built in for your music streaming and online radio, Remote Services and a wide range of other Porsche Connect Services and Smartphone Integration incl. Apple® CarPlay and Android Auto™ are available as standard.
SAFETY
The 911 Carrera T is equipped with full-size driver and passenger airbags as standard. These are inflated in two stages depending on the severity and type of accident. The Porsche Side Impact Protection System (POSIP comprises side impact protection elements in the doors and two airbags on each side. There’s an integral thorax airbag in each seat side bolster, while the door panels each contain an upwards-inflating head airbag. In the unlikely event of a roll-over accident, the dual roll-over protection of windscreen and individual seat roll-over bars creates survival space within the cockpit. The car is also equipped with emergency call system eCall, warn and brake assist including pedestrian protection and remote control for central locking system and luggage compartment lid release.
