The Macan S pays homage to models from across the Porsche range, incorporating elements inspired by the 911, 917 and 918 Spyder. The Macan S has an updated rear, with a distinctive 3D LED lightbar highlighting the Porsche logo. It also has what Porsche designers call the ‘flyline’, where the roof line slopes to the back in the shape of a coupe, adding to that sporty presence. At the front end, the enlarged air intakes create an aggressive presence whilst the wide bonnet pays homage to the 917. Although it’s first and foremost a compact SUV, the body styling emphasises its sportscar nature. The sideblades are finished in Lava Black as standard but are also available in Carbon, Brilliant Silver or High-gloss Black. The Macan S sits upon 20” Macan Turbo wheels, but a sportier option is also available with the 21” 911 Turbo wheels. Inside, the Macan S also benefits from sports seats with comfort memory options and a three-spoke sports steering wheel inspired by the 918 Spyder, which can be upgraded to a GT sports steering wheel.
PERFORMANCE
With a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged petrol engine, the Macan S puts out 349bhp and 480Nm of torque and achieves a top speed of 156mph. With the optional Sport Chrono package (one of the most popular Porsche packages and a must-have if you’ve got a need for speed), the SUV will make the 0 – 62mph sprint in just 5.1 seconds. The intelligent all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management system has also been improved for more precise steering and increased comfort, and the brakes now offer a more immediate response and precise pressure point. The performance of the Macan S guarantees you a fun and thrilling drive without the need for any extras. But if you still want to push the dynamics and handling further, you can add the Porsche Active Stability Management active damper control system, height-adjustable air suspension, shock absorber hydraulics or the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus.
TECHNOLOGY
The Macan S features the latest Porsche Communication Management infotainment system with a 10.9” HD touchscreen, including online navigation with real-time traffic information, mobile phone connection, voice control and Porsche Connect Plus all included as standard. If you want to add some extra tech, Traffic Jam Assist includes comfort options such as a heated windscreen and ioniser which works to improve the quality of the air in the cabin when stuck in traffic. You can also upgrade the sound system to the renowned Burmester Surround.
SAFETY
Awarded a 5 star safety rating by Euro NCAP, the Macan S headlights are LED as standard, but you can also upgrade to the adaptive Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus. The compact SUV is also fitted with front collision warning sensors and lane departure warning as standard. Additional driver assistance systems include Lane Change Assist, Park Assist with reversing camera and adaptive cruise control.
